- When data on the disk has been accidentally deleted
When is recovery NOT possible

What is data shredding?
Deleted data is not actually gone when you simply click on the delete option on a file. Only the index to the file is gone. It simply tells the computer that it is able to overwrite the data that use to be there. .Shredding data is the process of overwriting deleted data to purposely make it unrecoverable. Think of it as burning a piece of paper.
